The main process of CNC prototype production
1. Numerical Control Programming: Programming is the first step in the production of prototype models. When engineers receive drawings, they will first review the drawings. Based on the convenience of the product manufacturing process, whether CNC machining requires disassembly processing to program and ensure that the appearance of the product is not affected. Then, based on the processing method, write a CNC engraving and milling path, set the type of cutting tool and processing speed according to the material characteristics, and finally write a CNC engraving and milling path and speed according to the equipment performance.
2. CNC machining: Send the program written by the programmer to the CNC machining center, and the operator selects the corresponding materials and tools for product processing according to the program sheet.
3. Manual processing: After CNC machining, there will be many burrs on the surface, which cannot be avoided by machines, so they need to be manually processed. In addition, CNC machining has inherent defects, and the right angle area cannot be fully processed. This also requires manual cleaning with specific tools and assembly adaptation.
4. Polishing: CNC processed products will leave knife marks on the surface, and the appearance of each prototype needs to be manually polished. After receiving the product, the polishing master will first check the 3D drawing file, analyze the appearance key points of the product, and try to reflect the product's edges, lines, gaps, and so on as much as possible.
5. Spray painting and screen printing: The biggest advantage of CNC prototype is that its surface effect is closer to the final mass production effect. According to the color palette provided by the customer or PANTONG color matching, the sprayed product is put into the oven for baking. The baking time will vary according to the characteristics of the material and paint. After the oil paint is dried, it will be sprayed with UV, which can not only protect and reinforce, but also beautify the paint. Generally, surface treatment includes electroplating, screen printing, laser engraving, oxidation and other methods in addition to spray painting.
6. Finished product assembly: Both the appearance prototype and the structural prototype need to be assembled. The first step is to check whether the product accessories are complete, and then carefully compare them with the 3D drawings and process instructions provided by the customer for assembly. Special attention should be paid to the assembly relationship of the product and the gaps between the parts.
7. Quality inspection: All prototypes must undergo quality inspection before shipment. Of course, quality inspection is not limited to the last stage. The quality of prototypes is mainly controlled in the previous stages to ensure timely delivery and satisfactory products for customers.
